1 Corinthians 6

You’ve sinned? Welcome to the club. We all have. However, God is merciful and Jesus paid the price for sin. Not only has Jesus offered us the new birth and eternal life; He’s also given us freedom from the grip of sin. He’s given us the Spirit of God to always be with us and in us! Our bodies are a temple, or dwelling place, for God – it’s that incredible? It is our responsibility to keep ourselves consecrated, or set apart, for His purpose. After all He has done for us, what a privilege to surrender ourselves to Him. Don’t try this on your own! You have a Helper, and with a yielded heart, the Holy Spirit liberates us, completes what is lacking, restores what is broken, and empowers us to live this new life! If we make a wrong choice, 1 John 1:9 says that God is faithful and just to forgive us of sin. Do you feel as if you can’t break free of something? Think on this: if Jesus told us to forgive on another 70×7 times in a day, a number representing infinity, then don’t you think God will continually work with us to forgive and set us free? He’s on our side, cheering us on to freedom and growth!

Psalm 120-123

In Psalm 121 we see the reference to hills and mountains. High places in the Bible have the significance of going to God in the spirit, or from our heart. We’re spiritual beings, living in a world that is natural and carnal. When we pray, we are looking up in the spirit, where we connect with God, who is a spirit, and we find our tangible answer. God is the help we need, so let’s look up and into the spirit.
