Get up, splash some water on your face and let’s get ready to take on the world. But wait, I caught a glimpse in the mirror and I didn’t recognize the person staring back at me, I thought for a fleeting moment, "Who am I?"

If I let the world answer that question for me, my identity will constantly be changing. If I answer that question for myself, maybe I would leave a few things out. However, my identity is not what the world says, my identity is not from my own natural way of thinking; my identity comes from Christ!  Genesis 1:27 says I was created in Gods image. Ephesians 1:5 says that I was predestined for adoption into sonship. Colossians 2:9 says that all of the fullness of the Godhead dwells in me. Jeremiah 1:5 says that God knew you before He formed you in the womb. You have purpose, you have an identity and your identity is a Child of God. You have been chosen to take on the world for a time just as this. Your identity is not dictated by changing situations, your identity is grounded, it is rooted, and you have a strong foundation to stand on and who you are is needed right now, today. Your family needs the gift of God inside of you, your neighbors need the gift of God inside you, your coworkers, your friends, everyone you come in contact with need the gift inside you. Because just like you, people are searching for their identity, they are seeking value, and they are wandering the world waiting for someone to tell them who they are. It is our job to show them. You are more than a conqueror, you are fearfully and wonderfully made, you are victorious, you are precious, you are a mighty warrior for the army of God - now get up and swing your sword!

Maybe you have not accepted Jesus as Lord, but the truth is, God still knew you before you were born. He still made you for a purpose and that purpose is to share His love with the world, so come on and get up; it’s time for a new day! Splash some water on your face, look at your reflection, you know who you are. Know whom you belong to, know you have a purpose, and now let’s go and show the world!!!

If you haven’t confessed Jesus, it’s so easy, just say with your mouth: "Father I believe in my heart and confess Jesus as my Lord, forgive me of my sins, I am your child and I commit my life to serve you in Jesus name, Amen!"

Welcome to the family! You are loved, you are valued, you have purpose, you belong here and I love you!
